Learning from the Heart featured in Crazy Wisdom Magazine

I am honored to have an article about my practice included in the Crazy Wisdom Journal for January - April 2012. Here is a link if you'd like to read it: Crazy Wisdom Community Journal January-April 2012.  I'm on page 63.  Thanks so much to Karen Foulke Larson for creating this opportunity for me, and to Dwight Cendrowski for taking such great pictures, both for the article and for my web site.

New Books from Carla Hannaford and Cece Koester

Exciting News!

Dr. Carla Hannaford has a new book available, "Playing in the Unified Field: Raising & Becoming Conscious, Creative Human Beings," available at http://www.braingym.com and Cecilia (Freeman) Koester has re-issued her book "I am the Child: Using Brain Gym with Children with Special Needs."  It has been unavailable for the last year, and is now available at http://www.movementbasedlearning.com. And that cutie pie in the red shirt on her home page is my son Smile.

And just in case you haven't heard, Paul and Gail Dennison have, at long last, revised their "Brain Gym: Teacher's Edition."  It is a wealth of information, much more detailed than the previous "white book." It is also available at http://www.braingym.com.

Happy reading, everyone!

"Get Ready for School" DVD

Hi,

I just wanted you to be aware of a great DVD by Robyn Cox, a mom and educator from New Zealand.

Please check out and share this info: an illuminating 15-minute video clip (Chapter 1) about the building blocks of learning readiness is available on http://www.getreadyforschool.co.nz. It's part of a phenomenal 3-hr. DVD available from New Zealand about this topic. Building blocks must be in place BEFORE reading, writing and arithmetic can take place.

The DVD shows Brain Gym and other movements that help our kids succeed in school.  If you'd like a copy of the DVD, let me know; I have a U.S.-based source for the DVD.

Best,

Katy

New Source for Wooden Lazy 8 track

I am excited to share that I have found a new source for wooden Infinity 8  (Lazy 8) boards!  The vendor is Lou of Turnzwood2 in New Hampshire.  The Infinity 8 boards are $25 apiece plus $7 shipping.  They are made of plywood and have 3 coats of varnish.  To contact Lou for more info:  http://www.turnzwood2.com/infinityeights.html

The wooden boards are so nice to have, and these are very reasonable.  There are two sides: one side has two separate circles, and the other has the 8.

I'd love feedback on the boards once you get them!

Best,

Katy
